Dear Parent/Carer

MINI POLICE PROJECT – YEAR 5 PUPILS

You are invited to attend an assembly on Wednesday 12th September 2018 at 9:00amto hear more about this exciting project that we are very excited to be part of with Merseyside Police which will involve 20 of our Year 5 pupils.

Each pupil will apply to be involved in this year long programme and parent consent will be required.  The children that are successful in joining the Mini Police will receive their own uniform.Children will take part in local and regional activities and have a say in issues they want to see addressed within their own community.

The project has the following aims:

*  To create a fun and interactive volunteering opportunity for children and  through positive interaction, develop and enhance trust in the Police.

*  To enable children to have a confident voice and an enjoyable experience associated with policing.

*  Delivery of force priorities through enriched wider community interaction with planned outcomes.

*  Community problem solving through young people and wider stakeholder participation.

*  Future demand reduction though early engagement with children

*  Maximise individual potential and citizenship.

*  To develop self esteem and confidence and encourage responsibility and consideration for others.
